"CHILDs" are the dimensional creatures that are being summoned by the HiMEs as their superweapon guardians in the Mai-HiME series. The names and appearance of the child were based from ancient mythological creatures, monsters, and deities. Also, the child can be considered as the combination of living creatures with flesh and of mechanical or technological parts.
The life of the child are bound with the life of the most important person in the HiME's life. If the child of a certain HiME or herself dies, so does the most important person in her life.
